Bob Eyre
Bass
Bob has been with the choir for 23 years, recruited by another long-serving member, Ray Vaughan. He came to Tideswell from another lovely Derbyshire village, Elton, many years ago. He is a founder member of another choir – the Tideswell Singers – and also sings regularly with the Parish Church Choir. Bob has a son, Mark, who is married with two lovely children, Charlie and Eliza – what more could a granddad want?
Bob is quite a keen walker, more often than not on his own, to the dismay of his son. He is also quite a traveller and in the last few years has travelled widely in America and Canada, including the Rockies and Alaska. He is a member of the Bakewell Bird Study Group, a committee member of Tideswell Sports Complex and a member of the bowling club. When he has time he is also quite a tree fanatic, belonging to a number of forestry and woodland groups.
A very keen cricketer in his younger days, Bob is a life member of Ashover Cricket Club, having been associated with them for 40 years. Even now he turns out once a year for the President’s XI – not bad for someone who is the wrong side of 75!
