David Torrington
Baritone
David was born in Tideswell, but now lives in Litton with his partner Margaret. On leaving school he worked in Litton Mill and then for Laporte Industries for 30 years, where he was employed as Laboratory Manager. His main interest along with the Choir is growing Sweet Peas to exhibit at shows around the country.
David says he has always had an interest in the Choir because his uncle Bob Armstrong was one of the early members. He was persuaded to join the Come and Sing group by Alan Brignell, and when that had finished he joined the main choir. The camaraderie and social life, being part of the Choir, are fantastic and he has no hesitation in recommending anyone with an interest in singing to come and join us.
