Richard Lawson
Second Bass
Richard joined the choir in January 2007, having also been a member of Chapel-en-le-Frith Male Voice Choir from October 2004 to late 2008. Other choirs in which he has sung bass have included the Brighton Regency Harmonisers (Barbershop Harmony) from September 2000 to March 2004, and the Ovingdon (near Brighton) Parish Church choir from 1980 to 1986. He is now also a member of the Hazel Grove Male Voice Choir.
Currently a semi-retired freelance accountant, Richard is an active member of New Mills Christian Revival Church. He enjoys swimming, and listening to music (Latin jazz, Big Band, Swing, some vintage Rock ’n Roll and some classical — Handel, Purcell). Favourite singers are Frank Sinatra, Nat "King" Cole, Ray Charles, Matt Munro, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Nina Simone. He also likes the occasional game of chess, likes cricket and is a season ticket holder of Sale Sharks rugby union football club.
