Eric Hall
First Tenor
Eric was born in Hoyland, S.Yorks. On leaving school he started as a mining apprentice with the National Coal Board. He moved to Clowne to take up a statutory position in mine management, where he worked in most of the old Noth Derbyshire Area pits, ending at High Moor, near Killamarsh, where he eventually took up the position of Safety Engineer, a post he held until having to take early retirement.
Very active in Church work, Eric was Church Treasurer at Clowne for some 22 years.
Eric had been interested in singing and became a regular member of the Church Choir. This ceased when he moved to Buxton following the birth of his first grandchild. After a short span of 2 years, he was pleased to read of the Come and Sing Challenge, which he took up immediately. On the cessation of this project Eric was only too pleased to join the merry band of the TMVC, and feels that he is amongst Old Friends. The singing and social life he says he has found tremendous.
