Peakers' Stroll 2009

Another great day out on the Peakers' Stroll with over 150 entries (27 runners on the 25-mile route, first in with a time of 3hrs 8mins). Many new friends were made including Krishna Mahadevan who enjoyed himself so much he is threatening to come to a concert and to do the tea and cakes.

The weather was kind on the day for those marshalling, sometimes too much on the warm side for those on the Stroll, though one marshall had to keep moving his garden chair so he could keep in the sun. He was soon put in order by his fellow 1st tenor – see, no names mentioned.

Once again we were privileged to receive compliments on our organisation and the friendliness of the event, so thanks again to our marshalls, kitchen and restaurant staff and all others concerned.

Hopefully we will put on as good an event next year.

It must be said that many of the Strollers think that it is one of the best events about; let's hope we can keep it that way. I'm sure the scenery won't change.

Finally I have been instructed not to say anything about the timekeepers and certificate writers, so here goes, another excellent effort and everything worked out correctly, even on Peak Forest time.

Thanks again to everyone,

Alan & Jeff
