Our Charities
The choir likes to give what support we can to local causes, and this year is no exception. We have adopted two charities:
- Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in Sheffield,
- Helen’s Trust in Bakewell.
We’re very proud that over the last five years or so we’ve raised the magnificent sum of £50,000 for our chosen charities.
Our Sponsors
We are proud to have won the support of some local organisations, notably our main sponsor M. Markovitz Ltd. Without their generous support we should be unable to put on performances of such professional standard, and we’re happy to record our gratitude to the company’s Managing Director, David Hopkins.
In addition, we are delighted to acknowledge the contributions that Derby University makes to some of our activities. In particular, their Buxton college generously awarded a bursary to our then youngest member to enable him to join the Choir’s trip to the Cornwall International Male Voice Choral Festival in April–May 2009.
We should like to acknowledge the support we receive from Steve and Lesley Caddy at Pure Buxton. The regular features on the Come and Sing project throughout 2010 were superb and we hope to continue our relationship with this excellent publication.
Our Patrons
Tideswell Male Voice Choir has a strong group of patrons to whom we are extremely grateful. Their support of the choir is invaluable and we have many who follow the choir around the concert circuit. To become a patron costs £30 per year, or £50 for a couple, and for that you receive copies of the magazine and discounts off the prices of tickets – not to mention the satisfaction of encouraging this burgeoning choir to ever-greater heights of achievement!
If you would like to become a patron please e-mail or ring Alan Brignell on 01298 871893. You can also contact any choir member.
Our Magazine
Our printed magazine Going Places is published twice a year (in April and October), free of charge to anyone who’d like a copy. It is distributed widely through the Peak District and surrounding area, with a circulation of 5000. We are deeply grateful to the following businesses who advertise in the magazine for making this possible:
