Tideswell Male Voice Choir

The Peakers’ Stroll

The choir organises this event on the first Sunday in July every year, which this year falls on Sunday 7th July. It takes in fantastic views of the Peak National Park: Mam Tor, Lose Hill, Ladybower, Edale and Castleton. You should bring OS Explorer maps OL1 (Dark Peak) and OL24 (White Peak).

It takes the form of a 25, 17, 13 or 9 mile event – your choice. Start and finish are at The Reading Room, Peak Forest (on the A623), Grid reference 113793. Support vehicles will be on hand, and checkpoints will be supplied with drinks. Light refreshments will be available at about half-way round the 25-mile route; donations towards the cost of these would be appreciated. A hot meal will be provided at the finish – cost included in the fee.

Walkers leave at 9:30 am and runners at 11:30am. There are certificates for all who complete the event.

Cost is £10 per person, including the drinks at checkpoints. Cheques should be made payable to the PEAKERS’ STROLL account. A large area is available for parking so please DO NOT park in the DEVONSHIRE ARMS car park.
