The Peakers' Stroll

The choir organises this event on the first Sunday in July every year. It takes in fantastic views of the Peak National Park, Mam Tor, Lose Hill, Ladybower, Edale and Castleton. You should bring OS Explorer maps OL1 (Dark Peak) and OL24 (White Peak).

This year's Stroll was a highly successful day; the weather was just as required although the wind was a little brisk at times. Judging by the comments, an enjoyable time was had by all: runners, walkers, marshalls, cafe staff and timekeepers.

The compliments paid by the participants were very pleasing, some even promising to come back in 2011 and do it all again.

As ever, the quality of the refreshments was particularly remarked upon, so thanks again to the Cafe staff and providers.

A special thanks to Bob Eyre for volunteering to man Ladybower checkpoint with Carol and Wilf.

Special thanks go to Mary and Jeff Hipwell and Margaret and Lianne Brignell for all their efforts in setting up the whole affair.

See you next year.
