Extract from Adjudicator's Notes - Hazel Grove Music Festival
1) What Would I Do Without My Music?

Some very sensitive singing in the opening, not always secure in pitch, but this soon settled.  Sense of phrasing was excellent, words were clear, but never got in the way of the music.  This was the result of careful preparation.  The balance in this piece was very good.

2) Silver Trumpet

What an excellent sound!!  Those first tenors!!
The dynamics you introduced were great throughout and most effective.

3) Let There Be Light

Great phrasing again, and the sound full of resonance.  Open shaped vowels, with plenty of space enabled this to happen.  Some beautiful moments, particularly "move on the waters face".  Excellent again.

This was a brilliant programme, both for choice and performance.  Your singing is first class, vowels are open and focused, consonants placed by everyone at the same time, diphthongs placed perfectly, and at the last minute.

This was a first rate performance.  Congratulations!!!
