STUART GORDON

Second Tenor

Stuart was born in1950 in the small hamlet of Dailuaine, Banffshire , Scotland which makes him a “teuchter”.  He went to London in 1970 to seek his fortune but married the lovely Teresa instead.  They have one son and one daughter and moved to the Peak District village of Hathersage in 1982.

Stuart spent 32 years in the Civil Service before retiring in 2002.  He has been a choir member for four years and enjoys the weekly rehearsals which he says give him an invaluable music lesson every week and the opportunity to perform at concerts throughout the year.  He is the editor of the choir’s bi-annual newsletter.

He is a local Parish Councillor and interests include tennis, football, gardening, reading and music.  Stuart's musical tastes cover a wide spectrum ranging from Deep Purple to Mozart.  His claim to fame is that he once bowled two overs at Denis Compton in a charity match.
