On Saturday 23rd February the choir participated in the Hazel Grove Music Festival.  We sang well and were awarded first prize, together with achieving a mark of 92 and some very kind comments from the adjudicator.  The picture below shows the choir holding the cup after a rehearsal.
And in this photo the cup is being held by (from the left) Llinos Hodgson - Accompanist, Dennis Kay - Musical Director and Les Furness - Chairman.
 
On Saturday 1st September the choir finally performed our long awaited concert with Aled Jones in Buxton's splendid Opera House.  We sang to a capacity audience and everyone agreed it was a highly enjoyable evening.  Last year it will be recalled that Aled was ill and could not sing, but this year he more than made up for it, performing several well chosen numbers from his extensive repertoire and also singing "Ar Hyd y Nos" and "How Great Thou Art" with the choir.  Here are some photos of the event.  *Aled Jones photos by kind permission of Helen Ford.
