in a choir is not just about singing, it's about travel,
companionship, musical education, excitement, challenge and
opportunity. Tideswell
Male Voice Choir have travelled to many countries as well as
within our own islands, have performed alongside some of the
greatest names and have an active programme through 2009.
We would be pleased to consider you as a member of
the choir so that you can share with us the thrills and the
sense of achievement, as well as the fun and the laughter.
The choir currently numbers around 40 but we are
always pleased to welcome new members. The men of
Tideswell MVC are ordinary men from all walks of life and although many of
of us live in and around the village, others come from as far
away as Sheffield and Greater Manchester. We work hard
together, we play hard together and we support each other in
daily life as well as during choral events. Singing with
us you will find that you learn to read music without ever
realising you have learned, and you can improve your voice and
style of presentation under the baton of our talented Musical
Director.
Rehearsals are intense but fun
and take place each Tuesday evening at 7.30pm until 9.30pm in
the Tideswell Methodist Church after which, having worked up a
thirst, some members visit the local pub for a drink and social
chat. As well as these occasions the choir has many social
activities, most of which are fronted by the wives and partners.
